A non-governmental organisation, Career
Development Network, has advised secondary school pupils to acquaint themselves
with the application of global technologies in order to have a practical
understanding of the world around them. At a recent programme tagged: “The
discover work taster programme” during which it took pupils of Igbobi College,
Select International College and Reagan Memorial Baptist School on a visit to
System Specs Limited in Lagos, the organisation charged them to be careful in
their career choices. It asked the pupils to find out different careers
available around them and equip themselves with the skills and qualifications
required to succeed in their environment and the Information and Communication
Technology sector. In a statement on Friday by Aramide Noibi on behalf of the
company, CDNET said it had also taken students from other schools such as
Queens College, International School, Lagos Redeemers International School and
Baptist Academy in Lagos to Interswitch Limited to further expose them to the
ICT sector.
