Have you ever looked out across the ocean and wondered if someone on the other side of the world was looking back? It's a common thought among daydreamers, but many people would be surprised to know what country a person directly across the ocean would really be standing in.
A new series of maps created by Massachusetts-based cartographer Andy Woodruff shows what you might see if you could look beyond the horizon and catch a glimpse of the distant coastline.
The image above shows which continents can theoretically be seen from along the US West Coast (left) and East Coast (right), and the points at which Antarctica can be 'seen' from around the world (bottom right).
