Woman tricks her carnivore husband into eating meat-free meals for a week... but did he notice the difference?

Are plant based meals ever really able to satisfy a hardened meat-lover's appetite? Joanne Gould, 30, from London, decided to put her carnivore husband Richard (together centre) to the test - cooking him vegetarian meals for a week, to see if he would notice the difference. She cooked five meals using meat-alternatives such as Quorn fillets, soya mince and vegetable burgers, creating meals which included spinach and ricotta cannelloni, chicken kebab (top and bottom left), spaghetti bolognese and sausage and mash (top and bottom right). She told FEMAIL: 'One thing that really struck me was the money saved in using non-meat products. Cooking meals such as vegetable based curries or meat-free pasta dishes are cheap and have the bonus of being completely unprocessed, pure foods.'
