40 girls compete for Miss Akwa Ibom Tourism crown

Over 40 girls from the 36 states of Nigeria seeking to be crowned the coveted Miss Akwa-Ibom Tourism Queen.  They are in the camp for the one-week pageant and grand finale holds on September 4, 2015.  The girls will be given special trainings on their unique modeling,  preferred vocational programmes and consequently, examined to ascertain their level of assimilation  and their preparedness to wear the crown. Chief Executive Officer, CEO, of I.V. Entertainment, the  outfit with the Nigerian Tourism Board franchise to plan and organise the event, Lady Violet Kenneth, said in a chat with Vanguard that the contestants would be in camp for one week for them to be groomed on the etiquettes and expected standards of queens and models so that as they returned to their respective communities, they would be sufficiently equipped to teach the younger ones on how to live and be useful to their families and communities. “This event is informed by the quest to showcase the tourism potential in Akwa Ibom State because a lot of people are not quite aware of the tourism endowments and attractions that inundate this state including the unsung developmental  projects spread across every part of the state.”
