The Federal Government has said it will sanction Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) that failed to meet with the Tuesday, September 15 deadline set for the transferring of their funds to a Treasure Single Account (TSA).

Mail Express can report that a sizeable number of the MDAs had complied with the order by midnight on Tuesday and the Accountant- General of the Federation, Ahmed Idris has expressed satisfaction with the level of compliance with the directive asking them to deposit remittances to the Treasury Single Account (TSA).
Idris said in the statement signed by Deputy Director, Press, Office of the Accountant- General of the Federation (OAGF), Kenechukwu Offie that the important MDAs have done what they should.
The statement read: “At the close of business on Tuesday, Sept. 15, almost all MDAs, especially the revenue yielding ones have all complied with the Presidential directive to transit to the TSA.’’
He said that the compliance was an indication that Nigeria was at the threshold of a new era of transparent and accountable management of public finances.
Idris thanked all the MDAs for their cooperation and also commended all those that had complied with the directive on the transition to the TSA in view of the deadline.
President Muhammadu Buhari had directed that all MDAs deposit their remittances into a single account with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) on or before September 15.
