A team of scientists at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech), headed by an Israeli scientist, has reported identifying what appears to be the oldest galaxy currently known. In an article published in Astrophysical Journal Letters the researchers describe evidence showing that this galaxy, called EGS8p7, is more than 13.2 billion years old.
