After a six-year battle, former owners John (inset, bottom) and Norma Bradshaw face a huge bill after a court ruled they should have told Cesar Basanta (inset, top) that their Tetbury home had flooded just years earlier. Mr Basantas and wife Caroline had been assured by the vendors that the five-bedroom detached property had never flooded, and agreed to pay £470,000 to own it. However, a year later the river that runs through its garden burst leaving the grounds of the five-bedroom home waist-deep in water (top and bottom right). The Bradshaws fought the claim but the court ordered Mr and Mrs Basanta to pay £57,000 compensation plus the Basantas' fees of around £49,000.
