Senator Saraki, To Appear AT The Tribunal

Senate President Bukola Saraki has pledged to appear before the Code of Conduct Tribunal on Tuesday; after the Appeal Court, on Monday, dismissed a suit he filed to stop his trial.
The senate president’s statement is coming after Monday’s issuance of a fresh arrest warrant on him by the Chairman of the Tribunal, Danladi Umar, following a short adjournment at the resumed hearing over his alleged false declaration of assets.
Umar had ordered the Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase and other security agents to present Saraki before his court unfailingly by 10 am on Tuesday.
“Well, with the ruling of the Appeal Court, I think based on legal advice and being a law abiding citizen, I will be there as I have nothing to hide,” he said. “One was exercising his own right both at the Federal High Court and the Court of Appeal.”
Meanwhile, many senators of both the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) have stood by their leader, pledging to stand by him during the trial. Senators who visited him on Monday include Deputy Senate President Ike Ekwerenmadu, Deputy Leader Ibn Na’Allah, Hope Uzodinma (PDP Imo West), Mao Ohuabunwa (PDP Abia North), Mohammad Ohiare (APC Kogi Central), Theodore Orji (PDP Abia Central), Abdulraman Abubakar (APC Kogi West), Binta Garba (APC Adamawa North), Olaka Nwogu (PDP Rivers South-East), Obinna Ogba (PDP Ebonyi Central), Sonni Ugboji (PDP Ebonyi South), and Kabiru Gaya (APC Kano South).
