Just one drink can make you a menace on the roads, even if you are below the legal limit, according to new research. A study found minor distractions, such as receiving text messages or checking information on dashboard controls, make it twice as hard for people who have had one alcoholic drink to concentrate, compared to those who are completely sober. It is some of the first evidence on the degree to which distractions influence the behaviour of drivers who have had just a small amount of alcohol.
