The Polk Audio Hinge Wireless Wants to Take Your Ears to Dinner

These days, the headphones you wear are as much a style play as a pair of shined-up wing tips. Polk’s Hinge Wireless, the first Bluetooth headphones from the acclaimed sound company, take that to heart with a vintage aesthetic that fits in everywhere from the L train to Le Cirque. The hand-stitched on-ear headphones are swaddled in leatherette and feature a rustic, two-toned color scheme inspired by the interior of classic luxury cars. They’re meant for the daily wear, with a low-profile and distinct metal hinges (get it?) halfway up the band that enable them to easily fit inside a pocket or bag. Sound-wise, they've been tuned for depth, balance, and a bit of low-end bite. There’s a microphone for making hands-free calls and a smart lone scroll-dial on the underside of the right ear cup lets you pause, play, and skip tracks as well as control volume. The wireless connection lasts roughly 12-hours per charge; the classic look, however, will stay fresh for a lifetime. [$200; polkaudio.com]
