Google has revealed a new project targeted at making better the performance of the mobile web called Accelerated Mobile Pages. The project will make web pages load faster while still surfacing heavy contents like videos, animations, graphics and ads.
The search giant says using a new open framework in AMP HTML, forked from existing technologies , it’ll be able to accomplish the development of light-weight websites. It’s already tested the tech on search and in the near future plans for other products like Google News to get it.
The company also says that close to 30 publishers are already integrating AMP HTML, noting Twitter, Pinterest, WordPress, LinkedIn and Adobe being part of the first partners taking part in the project’s test phase.
