Global Remittances Company, Transfast, To Boost IT Literacy In Nigeria

Through its philanthropic division, Transfast Cares, the New York based company will be distributing computers to at least six orphanages and a juvenile correctional center in Lagos in Mid-January 2016, proffering them as a means to giving these children a leg-up.

Mr. Jay Vix, Transfast’s Global Marketing Manager, made this revelation at the end of a 3-day visit in Lagos, during which time he led a contingent of Transfast employees in spreading the Christmas cheer to children living in orphanages and juvenile centers across the Lagos Metropolitan area.
Transfast brought along Santa Claus, who handed out toys, dolls, and other personal items to the children, in addition to giving the orphanages assorted foods. Santa also sat down to listen to the kids’ wishes, and the whole Transfast retinue saw to it that the children had a good time.
Accompanying the Transfast team in rekindling the Christmas spirit was Hon. Desmond Elliot, a Lagos State legislator (and a prolific actor/director of Nollywood films), his beauteous wife, Victoria Elliot, Mr. Bola Ogunjimi, CEO of Finger Licking Restaurants, and Mr. Ayodele Adesomoju, the Product Manager of the First Bank of Nigeria.
The centers visited by the Transfast team are, namely: Living Fountain Orphanage, Lagos State Motherless Babies Home, and Peculiar Saints Orphanage on Sunday, followed by the House of Gold Orphanage, Children Center and the Correctional Center for Girls and related facilities in Idi-Araba on Monday.
