Mum Of Eight Is Happy To Spend Her First Christmas In New Four Bedroomed Home

Single mum-of-eight Marie Buchan – who rakes in £26,000-a-year in benefits – is set to enjoy her first Christmas in a new four-bedroomed housing association home.

Marie and her children will be enjoying spending their first Christmas in their new Bournville Village Trust housing home in Weoley Castle, Birmingham.
She moved from her three bedroomed property in Selly Oak to the larger property six months ago.
The 33-year-old told the Birmingham Mail : "I have got all I want for Christmas this year - a four bedroomed house.
"I will be spending Christmas in a new home with my children and it is wonderful.
"It is the first time I have been able to have a bedroom to myself as I usually have to share with one of my children.
"This new home is just great and is all I ever wanted - it is the perfect Christmas present.”
Her agent Barry Tomes, who also represents Benefits Street star Dee Kelly, added: "Marie moved to the property six months ago and it is her first Christmas there with the children.
"She has been on the list for a move for several years and her Christmas wish has finally come true.
"There is so much more room for the children now.
"They are a happy family."
Marie, who has eight children between the ages of 13 and two, appeared on Channel 5 programme On Benefits Cashing In For Xmas.
Her £26,000 annual benefits package is composed of council tax, child benefit, child tax, income support and housing benefit of 50p a week.
It was revealed last month how she had started training to be a mechanic at Bournville College and was hoping to then set up a mobile mechanic business aimed at women.
She has been criticised for not having a job but also revealed how she worked a 21-hour day caring for her children, rising at 6am and not going to bed until 3am, watched every penny and scoured eBay, car boot sales and charity shops for bargains.
Mr Tomes said Marie may also have other irons in the fire – including a TV career.
He said he was currently in talks with ITV to film her as she set up her mechanic’s business.
Last Christmas, she caused outrage as she defended her right to shower her eight children with piles of Christmas presents as she appeared on Channel 5’s Benefits Britain: Life On The Dole.
On the TLC show, Marie said she hired an agent after previously not “doing well out of the media stuff.”
