Toddler Who Was Found Wandering The Streets Alone Leads Police To Her Dead Mother After Saying: 'I'm Going To Nursery. I Can't Wake Mummy Up'

Nicolla Rushton (pictured), 30, was found by a PCSO and his wife after they spotted three-year-old Phoebe wandering the streets alone and followed her back to her home in Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire. 

When he stepped out of his car to speak to Phoebe she said she was making her own way to her nursery - 350 yards from home at Little Strawberries - because she 'could not wake mummy up'.

The couple followed Phoebe home, where they found Miss Rushton. The off-duty officer stayed with the girl until emergency services arrived, and Miss Rushton was pronounced dead at the scene.
