Cheryl Was Right...I Am Going Deaf: Louis Walsh Admits That A Lifetime Spent Listening To Loud Boybands (And Their Screeching Fans) Has Taken Its Toll On His Hearing

Louis Walsh (right, with Cheryl Fernandez-Versini) has revealed he is suffering from age-related hearing loss, as a result of natural ageing and noise damage.

He has now teamed with Specsavers to launch its 'Listen Up' campaign, and is helping to raise awareness of the importance of regular hearing checks (inset).

Research into hearing loss in the latest Health Survey for England found that one in six women and almost one in four men aged over 55 reported no hearing difficulties, but were subsequently found to have some hearing loss.
