Ghanaian Startup, Asoriba Wins Seedstars Best African Startup Award

Asoriba, a MEST portfolio startup that’s revolutionizing church administration, has been named the Best African Startup at the just concluded inaugural Seedstars Africa in Morocco.
Asoriba is web and mobile application that enables effective church administration for leaders, and seamless engagement with members.

To emerge winner, Asoriba pitched in front of a panel of judges with 12 other startups – all winners of Seedstars World startup competition in their respective countries.
Also joining the 13 startups is Omniup Ads, a Moroccan startup which provides an integrated solution (patented worldwide) and free Internet via WiFi. Omniup Ads won the Moroccan leg of Seedstars World competition at Seedstars Africa.
All 14 startups will fly Africa’s flag at the global finals of the startup competition which takes place on March 3, 2016 at the SwissTech Convention Centre in Lausanne, Switzerland where they’ll compete with other regional winners across the world for US$1.5 million in investment.
The Seedstars Africa event was organized to showcase the potential of Entrepreneurship in Africa, share insights and gain key learnings, foster collaboration and investment opportunities and enable valuable connections across the continent and around the world.
The event, which brought together over 300 startup founders, investors, ecosystem players, leading corporations and successful entrepreneurs, took place on January 29, 2016 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Casablanca.
The event was co-organized by StartupYourLife, a leading ecosystem player in Morocco, in partnership with several organizations such as avito.ma, Capital Maroc and DabaDoc.
Last year, Switzerland-based Seedstars World travelled to 52 countries across the world, promoting and investing in startups through its startup competition.
