Laura Bartley, 28, from Kent, was born without a womb (left). She is on a short-list of 104 women waiting to hear whether she will be selected for surgery. If chosen, doctors will start the first phase of IVF treatment.
A womb will then be transplanted and the patient monitored for a year. Once doctors are convinced the transplant is a success, the IVF process, will continue, hopefully resulting in a pregnancy (right).
However as the process is not funded on the NHS, Womb Transplant UK was set up to raise the £500,000 to pay for the treatment.
Mrs Bartley is hoping to raise as much money as she can. She said: 'Ten years after being diagnosed with something I had never heard of, I at last had a glimmer of hope.'
