Shantel Ullah (left and right) momentarily gave the teenager her two-week-old baby Dontae (left) before snatching him back when the girl began acting suspiciously.
She had turned up on the 20-year-old's doorstep in Normanton, Derby, and claimed that she needed to take Ms Ullah's son for a health check. But it was all part of an elaborate con to abduct the child.
The then 17-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, had lied to her Jamaican boyfriend and claimed to be pregnant with his child to make him stay with her.
She and another teenager then devised a plan to spy on new mothers on Facebook so they could abduct a mixed race child to corroborate the story.
The pair, now aged 17 and 18, both admitted conspiring to kidnap Dontae and two other babies. Ms Ullah wrote about her ordeal on Facebook (inset) at the time of the attempted kidnap.
