KERCHING! Their husbands built up some of Britain's most famous retail names while they brought up the children. Now they're divorcing and pocketing millions. Fair - or just greedy?

A spate of divorce settlements involving some of Britain's most successful retail bosses and their out-of-favour spouses show judges are looking very favourably on the wives who stayed at home raising children while their husbands built up their empires.

In some of the UK's most moneyed divorces there can be up to tens of millions of pounds at stake.

On opposing sides of the courtroom in one of Britain's most expensive divorce battles are former merchant banker Tim Steiner, 46, inset, and Belinda, 45, middle, a former PR, his wife of 14 years and mother of his four children.

Earlier this month, Nick Robertson, 48, co-founder of online fashion retailer Asos was ordered to pay former wife Janine, 43, right, £70 million after the end of their ten-year marriage. last month, Superdry tycoon Julian Dunkerton, 51, far left, sold £50 million of his shares in the High Street fashion chain to fund his divorce from Charlotte.
