Daljinder Kaur (pictured with son Arman, right), aged around 70, is thought to be the oldest new mother in history and Susan Tollefsen (pictured with daughter Freya, left), 64, became one of Britain's oldest mothers aged 57 in 2008 after travelling to Russia for IVF treatment.
BBC journalist Winifred Robinson who had her only child, Toby, through IVF, wonders whether being an older parent is in the child's best interests.
