Princess Diana's final resting place at Althorp will get multi-million pound facelift 20 years on from her death after critics claimed her grave had been neglected

The island where Princess Diana was buried and the lake surrounding it at the Althorp Estate in Northamptonshire (pictured) are to be redesigned to mark the 20th anniversary of her death next year.

In 2014 Diana's former chef attacked her brother Earl Spencer for neglecting her final resting place, posting several photographs of the memorial on Twitter, showing the lake near her grave covered in algae. The island is located at the centre of the Spencer family's 500-year-old ancestral estate, which spans 13,000 acres surrounding its walled 500-acre park.
