I'm ready for my close up! Curious lions chew up a photographer's $2,000 camera in Kenyan national park
The photo-tourist had set up his camera up on a tripod to take remote-control pictures of the pride of lions, who were 100m away in the Maasai Mara National Reserve in Kenya.
Unsure how to work the Canon EOS 40D camera, worth about £1,300 including the lens, the mother lion resorted to trying to eat it instead. Engineer Thomas Selig captured the hilarious images from the safety of the safari truck. He said he felt sad for the photographer, whose camera was all chewed up, but that even he was laughing.
