It's right that my son will inherit castle (and not one of his wild sisters)... says the duchess who ran off with the estate manager

The Duchess of Rutland Emma Manners (pictured top left) revealed she is 'delighted' that her husband's title will go to their eldest son, who is her fourth child, rather than her first-born, daughter Violet at the Hay Festival yesterday. 


While aristocrats fought to change the laws of succession that prevented daughters from inheriting their father's title and estate, the Duchess of Rutland was not among them as despite having three older daughters (right), she said that looking after the 15,000-acre Belvoir Castle estate (pictured left) is a huge duty she is glad will one day be handed to Charles, 16, the Marquess of Granby (pictured top middle).
