An incredibly moving photo of an 11-month-old boy and his grandfather showing their matching heart surgery scars has touched thousands.
Allen Halstead, from South Carolina, has had two open heart surgeries,18 stents, a pacemaker, a deflator, artery disease, diabetes, a massive stroke and is operating with just 10 per cent heart function. Little Kolbie Gregware, on the other hand, had his first open heart surgery when he was just four months old after being born with a heart defect, pulmonary vein stenosis, pulmonary hypertension, chronic lung disease, kidney disease and Down Syndrome. 'I was in tears when I saw this picture! I'm in tears as I type this... It shows 2 fighting miracles!' Brandy Gregware, Kolbie's mother, said. 'My dad is a walking miracle and Kolbie has fought to be here from day one!' The heartwarming photograph was captured by photographer Sunshine Moody, from Alabama.
