Joy of beautician battling cancer after 'cooling cap' treatment stops her hair falling out during chemotherapy
Nadia Brown, from Stoke-on-Trent, was left devastated after doctors told her she would probably lose her trademark brown hair (left) as a result of chemotherapy. But a cooling cap which works by lowering the temperature of the scalp proved successful (right).
After 12 cycles of chemotherapy she was delighted when the cooling cap - which she had to wear for four hours each session - prevented any hair loss.
'When I didn't lose my hair, it was the best feeling ever. It helped me to stay positive,' she said.
