'She started choking at 40,000ft, I was completely frantic': Mother's in-flight horror as one-year-old daughter swallows chunk of plastic that broke off spoon
A mother has called on Thomson Airlines to recall their in-flight cutlery after her one-year-old daughter choked on a shard of plastic that broke off a spoon provided by the airline.
Natalie Ward was travelling from Glasgow to Orlando for a family holiday with her husband Simon and daughter Gabrielle when the worrying incident happened. As Gabrielle ate a yoghurt the plastic utensil snapped, leaving Mrs Ward 'frantic at 40,000 feet'. The toddler began to suffer breathing difficulties, and a paramedic who was sitting nearby, was forced to intervene to help clear her airways.
