Rock 'n' roly polys! How the big pop stars of the past are, er, even bigger now

Time waits for no man - even when that man is a hell-raising rocker. Punk legend Johnny Rotten, 60, was pictured this week (top left) looking a world away from his skinny heyday, as he shopped in Malibu, California.

But the Sex Pistol singer isn't the only star who has become more roly-poly than rock 'n' roll. New Romantic crooner Tony Hadley (middle) won a million hearts in the Eighties. Now, at 56, the Spandau Ballet frontman admits keeping his weight down is a 'constant battle'.Meanwhile, In the Seventies, a svelte Elton John (shown top right) could carry off tight white trousers. Since then the Rocket Man's weight has, well, rocketed - and, at 69, he's 14st. Here, we take a look at the other rock stars who are bigger now than they've ever been, including George Micheal (bottom left) and Simon Le Bon (bottom right).
