Byron Hamburgers' London branch is forced to close by far-Left campaigners holding signs saying 'migrant workers welcome here' to protest against chain's immigration sting on its own workers

A branch of Byron Hamburgers has closed after campaigners lined the pavement outside (pictured) to protest the company's role in an immigration swoop which saw dozens of its workers rounded up.

Police officers lined the front of the Holborn branch in central London this evening as the crowd of hard-left supporters hit out at the restaurant chain's handling of the incident. Byron had earlier pleaded with protesters to respect the safety of customers and staff after activists said they released thousands of insects into the burger chain's Central St Giles and Holborn branches on Friday evening (centre, top). Protesters accused Byron of carrying out 'underhand entrapment' after 35 workers from Albania, Brazil, Mexico, Nepal and Egypt were held after being lured to early-morning raids on the pretext of attending staff meetings. A Facebook page about tonight's protest said: 'Byron have acted shamefully and have made an example of themselves as a deeply disrespectful employer.'
