How a polite African schoolboy became pop's most outrageous frontman: Unseen pictures show a young Freddie Mercury - teeth and all - as music world marks icon's 70th birthday

The new pictures are among a series of photographs, some never released before, to be included in a vinyl box set of Queen hits to celebrate the legendary rock band. 


They show him smartly dressed as a school boy in India (far left) a far cry from his days fronting Queen (bottom right). They also include a shot of Freddie as a baby with his mother Jer Bulsara in Zanzibar during his his early years (bottom).
