Andy Murray sent an early signal that he is ready to make a serious run at the US Open title when he made it through to the second round with ominous ease.
Back under the watchful eye of Ivan Lendl for the first time since winning Wimbledon, the 29 year-old Scot was on the late night shift for his match against another Czech, Lukas Rosol. After a few close early games there were no indications of any fatigue from his exertions at the Olympics and Cincinnati Masters.
