What a warrior! Team GB women's hockey star is pulled off the pitch with a bleeding head - before making an epic return to the game just moments later

Footage of the painful incident captured British hockey star Crista Cullen spilling blood on the pitch after taking a nasty blow to the head as team GB beat New Zealand 3-0 in a tense semi-final in Rio, Brazil. 


But after leaving the pitch to get treatment for the cut, the 30-year-old from Boston, Lincolnshire returned to play with what appeared to be a small plaster on her head. Many British hockey fans took to Twitter following Cullen's epic return to the game and heaped praise on the brave athlete.
