Is sugar REALLY that bad for you? The biggest food myths debunked - as a new show aims to separate food fact from fiction


The new Channel 4 show presented by Jimmy Doherty is to look at the truth behind sugar tonight at 8pm. 


Before it airs, FEMAIL rounds up - and debunks - the biggest sugar fictions. From left to right, top to bottom: Food doesn't have to be boring without sugar - just try swapping jam for sliced banana on toast instead. And you don't need to go without yoghurt, milk or whole fruit as these only contain natural-occurring and healthy sugars. But avoid too many smoothies or juices, while natural alternatives can be just as bad for you as refined sugar, according to some. Experts also advise to avoid eating too much dried fruit, as it can cause tooth decay.
