May savages the liberal elite: PM uses keynote speech at the Tory conference to condemn those who sneer at patriotism and Britain's worries about immigration as she reaches out to blue-collar workers

British Prime Minister Theresa May is set to take aim at the 'liberal elite' who sneer at millions of Britons over immigration and find public patriotism 'distasteful', it can be revealed. 


In her keynote speech to the Tory party conference in Birmingham today, Mrs May will make a pitch to claim the 'centre ground' of British politics - and drive the 'divisive' Labour Party further into the wilderness. She will also pledge to lead a Government that is unafraid to challenge big business and intervene on behalf of workers on low and middle incomes.
