Theresa shows her steel: PM wears metal toecapped shoes to stamp her authority on Tory MPs as she slaps down Brexit blockers trying to 'subvert democracy' and reveals Britain will start leaving process by March
Theresa May was wearing steel toe-capped shoes (inset) when she told the Tory Party Conference in Birmingham that MPs who attempt to block Brexit are 'trying to subvert democracy'.
In a stinging rebuke to Remain campaigners in her own party, the Prime Minister said she would have no truck with those who refuse to accept the electorate's verdict. Mrs May (right) told Conservative Party conference activists that she had ordered Attorney General Jeremy Wright to take personal charge of defending next week's High Court bid by Remain campaigners to force a Parliamentary vote on Brexit. She was photographed arriving at the annual event with her husband Philip (left).
