A goal, an assist and confirmation from Jose Mourinho that he will be staying at Manchester United until at least the end of the season, this was a job well done for Bastian Schweinsteiger on the surface, certainly.
But a World Cup winner with the range of passing Schweinsteiger boasted earlier in his career should have run this game. He did not and it is for those sorts of reasons that he has no long-term future here.
