Eligible Non-Governmental
Organizations in Nigeria can access Microsoft cloud offers, such as Office 365,
Azure, Dynamics 365, Enterprise Mobility, and Power BI, for free, Microsoft
Nigeria said.
This was
revealed by Olusola Amusan, citizenship manager, Microsoft Nigeria at the
Tech4Good program organized by Microsoft Nigeria in partnership with Paradigm
Initiative Nigeria (PIN).
The Tech4Good
2017 program is an annual technology training for nonprofit organizations.
Olusola said
the global initiative was initiated to empower nonprofit organizations,
especially those whose vision aligns with that of the United Nations.
Olusola
explained that increasing the productivity was germane to activities and roles
provided by the nonprofit organizations, especially here in Nigeria.
"The
power of Office365, for instance, will help them to be more efficient and
productive in their work. In addition to the Microsoft applications, we
are also donating web hosting services worth of $5,000." he said.
Microsoft has
a mission and objective of making technology, which is a powerful force for
improving people's lives. However, understands presently, a huge percentage of
the world do not have access to the benefits and opportunities that technology
offers.
"That’s
why we're committed to doing more globally to bring the benefits of technology
to the people and organizations who need them most.
Together with
our grantees, partners and employees around the world, we’re working to fulfill
Microsoft’s mission to empower every person and every organization on the
planet to achieve more.
Participants
were divided into groups at the Tech4Good which was held at the Sheraton hotel,
and each group addressed by a Microsoft Nigeria.
One of the
groups handled by Somie Ochuba, Solution Specialist, Business Productivity,
Microsoft Nigeria had focused on some of the free cloud services from
Microsoft.
She said the
Office 356 achieves a lot within the shortest possible time frame, stating that
the security feature was an important factor to consider.
"You can
send bulk emails, for instance, that is not generalized, but personalized.
Using the BCC (Blind Carbon Copy) is usually seen as a marketing email, why not
make your emails, more directed to the person targeted. You can do this Office
365."
