Intercontinental Distillers Limited doles out N303m to distributors

The Head of sales, Intercontinental Distillers Limited (IDL), Hope Gbagi, at the weekend in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, said  the Nigerian wine and spirit market segment has grown in the last six years, making it among the fastest growing in the economy.

Gbagi, who made the statement while presenting the winners of the company’s annual Customer Awards, said the entry of the bitters and cafĂ© liqueur has harnessed some of the untapped potentials of the industry. He mentioned that IDL products like Action Bitters and DeRok have further opened up the business, saying:  “this could be seen in the notable increase in volume of sales which the company is currently doing.”
He further added that the company’s innovative way of distilling and presenting their products have paid off.
The awards, which was held in the Garden City for the company’s eastern & central regions, was the last in the series of awards for the 2014 Business year. A total sum of N253 million was doled out as cash rewards, while N50 million was spent on gifts in the reward scheme.
Comrade Joseph Ogoamaka Ugwoegbu of Merdian Marketing who emerged the company’s number one customer was rewarded with a cash sum of N11.4 million and a 4.5 tonne truck. The region also produced 1 gold winner, 10 silver winners and many bronze winners.
IDL’s Managing Director, Patrick Anegbe, said it was evident that customers who invested time and hardwork in their businesses were reaping the fruits, adding that the company would continue to support the marketing of the brands with various above and below the line tactics.
