TalkingBookz, a Nigerian-based startup that makes audio books available online for sale has received seed investment from Marek Zmyslowski, the co-founder and managing director of Jovago, a leading hotel booking portal in Africa. The Lagos-based startup, which offers access to unique African content and international bestsellers boasting more than 3000 of these on its site, allows users to purchase and download audiobooks right into their devices. Co-founded by Kolapo Ogungbile and Aransiola Damilola, the startup was recently selected as part of the 30 African Startups that will pitch at DEMO Africa 2015, and has been recognized as one of the most promising e-commerce ventures in Africa by the Tony Elumelu Foundation. The seed investment value is unknown, but reports suggest that Zmyslowski, given his extensive experience of over 8 years in the online marketplace, will also contribute strategic enterprise blueprint to help the company grow its revenue base. TalkingBookz is incubated at the Passion Incubator, based in Lagos.
