American record producer Quincy Jones says his headphones are the coolest in the world

Don't argue with Quincy Jones about sound. A composer, conductor, musician and producer, Jones has worked with the most iconic artists over the last sixty years, scoring countless awards along the way. Recognition for his megastar status came in 1991 with the Grammy Legend Award.
As expected his studio equipment is second to none. But Jones had one problem with his headphones - he had too many. A pair for each flavour of sound. He wanted one that let all music sound just as the producer meant it to. He turned to fellow prestigious Grammy winner and all-time favourite professional audio equipment experts, AKG, to sort him out.
Their answer was the N90Q. They're packed with tech. A microphone in each ear cup measures your ear canal then software calculates how best to compensate playback. A dial on one ear spins through three equalisation pre-sets letting you switch between the best settings for silky jazz or shoulder-popping hip hop. The noise cancelling function stops interfering environmental noise getting in the way of listening pleasure. Along with a 3.4mm jack there's a Micro-USB that sWe prefer the out and out gold aluminium finish to the understated matt black effect but either way, you'll be the coolest kid on the block wearing these knock-outs. upports high-resolution audio (24-bit/192kHz) for the more sensitive of music lovers. They don't just sound good on paper. All that tech really does the job. Their noise cancelling function works without the associated hiss you find on altogether lower-end headphones and the size of the cans let the sound waves wash around your ears to give an in-the-studio spatial effect.
