Federal Government to inject 3 billion naira into construction of houses in Katsina

The Federal Govern­ment said it plans to inject more than N3bn into the construction of hundreds of houses in Katsina State.

Managing Director, Fed­eral Housing Authority, FHA, Mr Al-amin Moham­med revealed this over the weekend.

Mohammed said the houses would be construct­ed in collaboration with the state government to assist in reducing accommoda­tion challenges in the state.

He said specific number of houses and types would be decided after conclusion of agreement with the state government.

Mohammed said sites for the project had been select­ed and construction would commence next year.

He also said the Federal Government would com­plete the Shagari housing estate that was abandoned about 30 years ago in the state.

Earlier, while receiving the managing director, Emir of Katsina, Alhaji Ab­dulmumini Kabir Usman commended the Federal Government for its plan to complete the Shagari hous­ing estate.

Kabir however called on FHA to employ youths from the state to serve as con­struction workers when the projects kick off.
