Women in Tech Africa,
Africa’s largest women in tech group has launched a database of its members
across Africa.
The essence of the database is to create an open and genuine platform where
recruiters, CEOs, event organizers in Africa and beyond can find their next
hire, next speaker or even their next board member without much hassle.
The database, Amazing
Women in Tech, which is a webpage on the Women in Tech Africa website, contains
a cross section of its members with their photographs, tags showing their
specialties and expertise, and links to their LinkedIn pages.
The Amazing Women in
Tech webpage contains profiles of 272 women at the moment but is expected
to grow steadily as time goes on.
According to Ethel D.
Cofie, co-founder of Women in Tech Africa, she expects to see more women in
senior management in both big and small organizations and in technology events
as the webpage will showcase the most capable women in the tech industry.
Also, she stated that
women will help bring diversity to the workplace as a business that reflects
the population will understand its clients better and employee diversity leads
to a more fulfilling and productive workplace which invariably help in attracting
and retaining employees.
Women in Tech Africa, the brainchild of ICT4D GH
Foundation, was founded to bring together women working in the technology
industry across the continent.
