Airtel Africa Partners IMImobile To Launch Tap2Bill


Airtel Africa, a leading telecommunication service provider in Africa has announced the launch of Tap2Bill, an innovative direct to consumer services for merchants and content providers across Africa in partnership with IMImobile, a customer engagement software provider.
The Tap2Bill service will enable content providers and merchants to utilize Airtel’s billing infrastructure to charge and bill their customers.
The service will be available via a secure portal that will help content providers and merchants grow their business across Africa without the need to invest in costly billing and payment capabilities.
“Ensuring the constant growth of choice and variety of mobile services is key across Africa and Airtel recognize that they are in a unique position to help content providers and merchants,” CEO of IMImobile, Jay Patel said in a press release.
He added, “We are delighted to partner with Airtel Africa to help bring these new, affordable, mobile-centric service offerings to market which not only creates a richer user experience for subscribers but will also encourage and support the growth and variety of mobile content across Africa.”
The service will be available in the first week of December 2015.
Airtel Africa recently launched Airtel Artist Management System, a platform to support music artists and promote industry growth across Africa in partnership with IMImobile.
Airtel Africa is a subsidiary of Indian telecommunication company Bharti Airtel, which operates in 17 countries across Africa with a subscriber base of about 83 million.
