The songstress sang Piaf's Hymne a l'Amour on Sunday night as a montage of Paris landmarks played behind her in the tribute to the 130 lives lost in the November 13 terror attacks. As the grand finale neared Celine's voice soared for one final incredible note as an image of the Eiffel Tower lit up in the French flag's colors displayed behind her. Multiple guests of the American Music Awards were shown wiping away tears as they watched Celine's powerful performance. She was introduced by Jared Leto, who paid tribute to a friend who was killed in the Bataclan concert hall on the night of the attacks. Leto then told the audience the 'entire world matters' before he seemed to hint at the Syrian refugee crisis when he reminded the audience that Steve Jobs and President Obama were the children of immigrants
