Liverpool Throw Away Two-Goal Lead As Fans Walk Out In Protest At Ticket Prices Before Defoe Snatches Point For Struggling Sunderland

LIVERPOOL 2-2 SUNDERLAND - DOMINIC KING AT ANFIELD: The anger began to rise and then the ground began to empty. As planned, in the 77th minute, Liverpool fans showed their disgust at the pricing plan for next season's tickets and departed en masse.

Their point, made forcibly with chants of 'You greedy b******s, enough is enough' aimed at the Directors Box, was wholly justified and the solidarity shown amongst supporters who believe they have been taken for granted, was commendable.

But did it unsettle the wrong people? Liverpool were cruising before the walkout, two goals to the good thanks to strikes from Roberto Firmino and Adam Lallana, but they ended up buckling.
