Britain is braced for the hottest Summer in 40 years as the country basks in 26C sunshine and temperatures warmer than Ibiza
High levels of pollution could pose a risk to people with underlying health conditions and the elderly this weekend as forecasters predict humid weather with the chance of hail. Regions such as north Wales, the Midlands and the south-east, are set for high levels of pollution as dust clouds from the Saharan desert reach Britain.
But as the clouds loom overhead many will bask in beautiful sunshine and temperatures warmer than Ibiza. The hot weather may be bringing pleasant conditions but it will also be accompanied by thunder and lightning this afternoon. Forecasters have even predicted that hail could hit across many parts England and Wales today. Carly Houghton and Alexandria Jones (pictured left) sunbath and enjoy the sunshine and warm weather in Green Park in London; while people out for the day relax on Southsea beach in Portsmouth (right bottom).
