Although the new play (inset), written by one of our best loved children's writers, is thrilling, its drama is overshadowed by the true story of what happened to Amber Owen (left) on the fateful day of the tsunami after she was saved by Ning Nong the elephant (right). 


Amber had befriended the elephant while on a dream holiday with her family, but little did she know that she would rely on him to rescue her from one of the most devastating natural disasters of modern times.
