Making the most of the sun: Brits hit the parks as the Bank Holiday weekend heats up... but it's not very bright in Brighton

Groups of people have been pictured sunbathing at the famous Bath Royal Crescent after the Met Office predicted dry weather over the course of the day, while festival goers were spotted taking selfies at BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend at Powderham Castle in Exeter (main).

Low cloud will be confined to some coastal areas, meaning the majority of Britain is predicted to remain dry. But scattered thundery showers are set to hit this afternoon and Brighton had a miserable start (inset). Sunday will be mostly dry with some warm sunshine before torrential rain threatens to spoil the fun on Bank Holiday Monday.
