The best way to lose weight? Get rid of your other half! It may sound daft. But as these couples found, living apart for ten weeks made the pounds drop off
A startling new BBC documentary, Lose Weight For Love, took four overweight couples and put them through a radical diet and fitness programme over the course of ten weeks.
The unusual twist was that the couples were physically separated for the duration. They were not allowed to live in the same house or even see each other, moving in with friends and family for the entire course of the series. Couple Steve and Lisa Macbeth (pictured before the show and after, left) lost a combined weight of 9 st 1 lb after appearing on the programme, while Celena Biggs and Peter Sharkey (pictured before the show and after, right) saw a combined total weight loss of 1 st 11 lb.
