The twin girls joined at the head: Sisters share a skull but have their own brains and 'very different personalities'

The parents of four-month-old Nadira Alifa Putri and Nadiba Aisyah Putri (main and inset), from Indonesia, say the girls being conjoined is difficult because 'when one sleeps the other one wants to play'.

They were born as triplets four months ago, but two of them were conjoined. Now, doctors at Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital in Jakarta have said the girls must gain weight before they can have the operation to separate them. Their father hopes they will reach 10kg (22lb) in six to eight months time. Their mother said: 'We are really looking forward to their separation.'
