Nine ships laden with petrol, aviation fuel and other commodities have arrived at Lagos ports waiting to discharge, the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) said on Wednesday.
The NPA said three other ships waiting to berth would discharge aviation fuel, crude oil and diesel.
It noted that 37 other ships containing petroleum products, food items and other goods were being expected at the ports from June 1 to June 16 up from 34 ships expected in May 31.
NPA explained that other expected ships brought in general cargoes, bulk salt, bulk sugar, buck wheat, frozen fish, crude palm olein, bulk fertiliser, base oil and diesel.
Other items the ships ferried into the country are petrol, bulk gypsum, steel product, bulk pet coke, bulk charcoal and containers.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that 22 other ships are currently at the ports discharging wheat, bulk fertiliser, bulk pet coke, bulk gas, base oil, general cargoes, petrol, sugar, bulk gypsum and containers.
